Jared Evan Readies Debut Album Fourth Chapter
Thursday August 5, 2010
"I want my album to make people feel, I want to touch my listeners emotionally," Jared Evan states flatly. "I want to leave a musical impact; I want to alter the state of music. I want to offer something that's never been—internally diverse but still with one single musical identity. I want rock heads and hip-hop heads and mainstream listeners to enjoy it all at the same time. I think with the mélange of sounds on it, it will be a classic album.""This is something I always expected to do," Jared insists. "There's never been a time when I didn't want to make music. When I was five years old, I started to bang on my parents' furniture with Nok-Hockey sticks. Eventually they decided to buy me a drum set and save what was left of the furniture." So Jared spared the chair legs and focused his energy on mimicking his father's idols John Bonham and Keith Moon—inherited as his own idols. Destructive about-faced to productive. Chapter is an amazingly organic mixture of styles, genres, tempos, and vibes. Nothing feels forced or out of place, each song a fitting piece to a larger whole. Part of that coherence stems from the production. While most albums today are an ill-fitting mishmash of myriad producers, Fourth Chapter is not. The bulk of the beats comes from Grammy-nominated boardsmith Ill Factor and also Evan's supreme ally, Polow Da Don, who hosted Radio in My Head and who contributed scorching first single "In Love With You", available for download on iTunes. "This reminds me of ‘Whole Lotta Love' by Led Zeppelin," harkens Jared, who sings/shrieks his way through the album's opening salvo. "To me it carries an angry tone, like ‘I'm mad at you right now, but I still love you.'" The emotive song is brought to life in a video by Bernard Gourley. Jared's manager Matt Graham says this about his long time friend and client: "Jared's music represents Americana, at a time where music is heavily influenced by euro beats and programmed synths, he is fusing classic rock sounds with hip hop sensibilities to create something fresh while also eliciting a sense of nostalgia." That kind of appeal, wrapped up in a unique sonic package, is the heart of Jared Evan. He conveys truth and insight in a remarkably entertaining way. A listen to Fourth Chapter doesn't prompt confusion Get To Know Sublime With Rome

The Pack Rework 2 Live Crew's
Wednesday July 7, 2010
The Pack continues to marry their sex driven rhymes with bass heavy tracks and pop infused production on their latest reworking of 2 Live Crew's classic track, "We Want Some Pussy." Fans have already gravitated to Wolfpack Party's lead-singles "Sex On The Beach" and the title-track which have both already debuted on the iTunes Hip-Hop charts. Fan's can download "We Want Some Pussy" for free here. The Pack, who just wrapped the first leg of a national tour with Chiddy Bang, are finally back to unleash their unique brand of musical debauchery. With their infectious personalities, sheer talent and youthful charisma have earned them much acclaim in a very short time. Their enormous online fan-base; over 17 million plays on MySpace and millions of YouTube views--has translated into widespread mainstream attention; including features in Spin, XXL, Vibe and Thrasher (among many) and included on MTV's "You Hear It First" (which resulted in one of the most viewed/downloaded shows in MTV.com's history) and MTV's "Super Sweet 16." Obviously eager for fans to hear the finished product, Young L asserts "Wolfpack Party is steps above the music we have made in the past. Were still the same group and make songs about the same stuff; partying, fucking females, getting money, but this album is far from anything you have ever heard before. It's stronger- were better lyrically and better producers. It's epic." The anticipation will be over on 8-24-2010 when The Pack releases their sophomore LP, Wolfpack Party, on SMC Recordings.
